Fort Worth hospital fires elevator maintenance company for poor job performance

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth’s John Peter Smith Hospital has fired the elevator maintenance company that it blames for a January accident that severely injured a nurse. Carren Stratford was crushed when the elevator she was entering suddenly started rising. She was in a coma for 15 days. While the Thyssenkrupp elevator maintenance company and JPS each continues to blame the other, JPS has now terminated its contract with Thyssenkrupp, effective May 14.
