Hundreds of new laws proposed for the next session of the Texas Legislature

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Monday was the first day Texas lawmakers could file their proposals for new bills in the next session of the legislature that begins in Austin January 8. 600 proposals were filed including a bill that would exempt Texas from daylight saving time. There’s also a proposal that would require commercial pecan buyers in west Texas to be officially licensed. Yet another would prohibit the use of hypnotically induced testimony in criminal cases. Senate bill 80 would allow properly permitted Texans to sell raw milk at places of business or farmers markets, and House bill 234 would legalize lemonade stands run for a limited time by children on private property.
