NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The 7th annual “Hiring Red, White and You” fair is happening across the Metroplex today.
It’s put on by Workforce Solutions and is geared toward helping veterans find work.
The company’s Betsy Morrison said it’s not easy for veterans to return to normalcy.
“We understand that making the transition from military life, if you are a veteran, into civilian life and how that translates into your career is extremely important,” she said.
Employers will be hiring on the spot.
“We have just about every industry represented. So that’s management, that’s maintenance, accounting, finance, warehouse, logistics, transportation, office support…you name it,” said Morrison.
The fair started Thursday at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m. at Gilley’s in Dallas and Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Events are also happening at the Allen Event Center until noon and at the Midlothian Conference Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In Arlington, the first 200 Vets and their spouses will get a free lunch.
