Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth Police say the woman whose body was found in the Overton Woods area of southwest Fort Worth this week had been planning to get a protective order against the man who killed her. Detectives say Kelly Lawson was shot to death while running away from something or someone. Lawson’s ex-boyfriend, Jamie Brown, has been arrested for her murder, and reportedly has confessed. Exactly what charge Brown will face is not yet public knowledge, but he has already served a 15 year prison sentence for aggravated robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
