Amber Alert Issued for Richardson Child

RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF) — Richardson police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing three year old girl, described as developmentally disabled with limited verbal communication skills.

Sherin Mathews was last seen in the backyard of the family home about 3:00 Saturday morning. She wasn’t reported missing until five hours later.

Police have arrested her father, Wesley Mathews, for allegedly abandoning or endangering his daughter. The family vehicles also have been seized, and are being searched for evidence.

According to an arrest affidavit, Mathews told police he put his daughter outside for not drinking her milk. He also said he had recently seen coyotes in the alley near where he left her.
