Floods Are Occurring Along The Brazos River

Weatherford (WBAP/KLIF) – The Red Cross has opened a flood shelter for residents of Parker County. So much rain has fallen in the county that two dam gates are open at Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam. The Brazos River Authority advises anyone living near low-lying areas along the Brazos River to take immediate precautions. The Red Cross shelter is open at the Spring Creek Baptist Church of Weatherford: 100 Spring Creek Rd. Flooding has already been a problem farther downstream where even homes on lifted risers are submerged in muddy water.
