Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Tropical Storm Zeta is now about 295 miles southeast of Cozumel. It’s moving north at only 1 mile an hour, but that is likely to change as time goes by. Zeta is forecast to make landfall on the U.S. Gulf Coast about mid week, probably somewhere between central Louisiana and the Florida panhandle. As of Sunday morning forecasters think it’ll be a strong tropical storm when it arrives, but it is possible it’ll be a category one hurricane.
Zeta is the 27th named storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season, tying the record set in 2005 as the most active hurricane seasons on record. If it makes landfall in Louisiana it will be the fifth named storm to do so this year, and that does set a record.
