DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- Around 300 to 400 North Texans are expected to climb the Ross Tower, one of Dallas’ tallest skyscrapers Saturday 2/9.
The climb, hosted by the American Lung Association, is designed to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease.
Holly Motteram Executive Director for the American Lung Association in Texas said it’s open for anyone, between 8am to 11am. “We have people that will probably finish in 7 minutes and others an hour…you go at your own pace,” Motteram said. Among those participating, Tim Croy, a double transplant survivor and his wife Shellie will climb 45 floors and almost 900 stairs. Croy sis he’s climbing to honor his sister who died at 22 from Cystic Fibrosis, suffering from the same disease as him. “The best part is when they take that final step they feel like how our patients feel everyday so it kind of moves the mission forward,” Motteram said.
