Arlington’s fight over term limits came to a screeching halt Sunday night

Arlington (WBAP/KLIF) – Arlington’s battle over competing term limits proposals came to an abrupt end Sunday night. The city council had called an unusual weekend meeting to move ahead with a term limits proposal it had drawn up to compete with a citizens’ initiative that had already been guaranteed a place on November’s general election ballot. Supporters of that initiative packed the council chambers, and after hearing from dozens of them the Arlington City Council reversed direction, and voted unanimously to kill its own plan in favor of the other.
