Dallas (WBAP/KLIBF) – A high school soccer player for Dallas Jesuit is alive because an opposing team’s trainer remembered at the last minute to bring a defibrillator to their game. Christian Lerma collapsed during the game at J.J. Pearce High School. Pearce trainer Tara Grubbs used the defibrillator to stabilize him until an ambulance arrived. She says she had actually forgotten to bring it with her before the game, and only decided at the last minute to go back to the field house to get it. Doctors say Lerma might not be alive today if Grubbs hadn’t done so.
