DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A holiday of sorts involving nature and nudity will be recognized Saturday — and one company says DFW is one of the best places in the country to participate.
It’s called “World Naked Gardening Day,” which is recognized on the first Saturday of May and has been for the last 12 years. Ryan Farley is with the company Lawn Starter and says it’s mainly celebrated by nature enthusiasts and nudists.
“There tends to be a high overlap there,” Farley said. “To them, I think they see it as kind of a celebration as both nature and nudity.”
He says the Metroplex comes in at No. 2 on their list of best places to take part in the day because of ideal weather conditions.
“We compared the high temperature for the day, the humidity, the wind speed, and the cloudiness,” Farley said. “We basically compared what the ideal number is for each of those. Aside from the weather, there’s a lot of outdoor area, and there are actually multiple nudist clubs in DFW, believe it or not.”
The only city above Dallas on Lawn Starter’s list is Houston.
