NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) The proposed higher-speed rail line between Dallas and Fort Worth may go in above the TRE. Some with the city of Irving are not happy about the prospect and the city council told the Dallas Morning News it plans to vote next month on a resolution against the elevated track. The DFW line is different than the one planned to be built between Dallas and Houston but planners do hope to connect the two. There is no cost estimate yet for the Dallas-Fort Worth project and no funding source decided for construction. The project is called “higher-speed” because trains will not go as fast as the 205 miles per hour planned for the bullet train between Dallas and Houston.
