DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The pilots and mechanics unions for Dallas-based Southwest Airlines are calling for new leadership.
Both the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association and the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association have completed a vote of no confidence in both Southwest CEO Gary Kelly and COO Mike Van de Ven.
In a statement, the pilots association said they can “No longer sit idly by and watch poor decision after poor decision deeply affect customers and Southwest Airlines.”
This follows a software failure that led to the cancellation and delays of hundreds of Southwest flights nationwide last month.
The statement closed by calling for new leadership in order to “Propel this company forward.”
