Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Indiana Governor Mike Pence are a good fit, says SMU political scientist Dr. Matthew Wilson. He told WBAP’s Morning News Trump and Pence are two sides of the same political coin.
“Pence is more of a low-key guy, he’s got much strong ties to the traditional Republican party and the republican establishment,” said Wilson. “In that sense he brings to the ticket everything Trump does not, and I think that’s what makes the pick make sense.”
What remains to be seen is if Pence’s more traditional conservative beliefs and demeanor are enough to bring the so-called “Never Trumpers” back to the party line.
The RNC is underway in Cleveland, our Alan Scaia is there, and will have reports all this week.
