DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The owner of a Dallas tax preparation service is facing federal jail time after pleading guilty to charges he filed over 1,300 returns with false and inflated deductions.
Kevin Troy Jernigan could be sentenced to three years behind bars. He also faces up to a $250,000 dollar fine.
Prosecutors claimed the returns, filed between 2007 and 2012, cost the government over two million dollars.
Charges may be forthcoming against clients who signed off on the fraudulent documents.
