DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Lightning is believed to have caused at least a dozen fires across the Dallas-Fort Worth area overnight.
The National Weather Service counted 1,500 strikes in a two hour period.
No major injuries were reported.
One gust of wind at the Mesquite Airport topped 55 miles an hour.
Oncor said more than 72,000 customers lost power at the height of the storms.
