White Settlement (WBAP/KLIF) – The White Settlement City Council reversed itself Friday night deciding that Browser, the cat that’s lived in their library for six years, can stay. The vote was unanimous.
Two weeks ago the town’s City Council set off a firestorm of protest when it voted 2 – 1 to evict Browser. No one ever really said why. That vote gave the cat 30 days to find a new home, and the objections came pouring in. So Friday night the Council voted again. This time the vote was 3 – 0 in favor of letting Browser stay. White Settlement political watchers noted that Browser maintained his dignity throughout the ordeal, and remained aloof from the controversy.
