FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) Fort Worth is trying to hop on board a bullet train. The city wants an extension to the proposed high-speed line between Houston and Dallas to go to Cowtown. Bill Meadows is the chairman of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Council. He is leading the effort to extend the line from Dallas to Fort Worth, with a stop in Arlington. An environmental study on the project is set to be complete this summer, which will put the line closer to a construction start date, likely in a year. The first tickets on the train are on track to be sold in 2021.
