(WBAP/KLIF) — Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation has purchased 650 acres of land on Lake Palestine in Henderson County to create Texas’ newest State Park. The property, previously owned by the Pollard family, features East Texas pine forests, ponds, and pecan orchards, providing habitat for various wildlife. The park will offer recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and paddling on Lake Palestine. The foundation plans to open the park in phases, starting with guided access and eventually full day and overnight access, with ownership transferring to Texas Parks and Wildlife in 2027.
