Trinity Metro will offer free rides during early voting from October 19 through October 30 and on Election Day, November 3, the transit agency announced.
The Let’s Ride to Vote! campaign includes buses, TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express service within Tarrant County, and On-Demand rideshare and paratransit. Regular schedules and service boundaries apply.
“Connecting people to the places that matter in their lives is what we do every day,” Richard Andreski, Trinity Metro’s president and CEO, said in the October 8 release.
Early voting customers can enter VOTE26 in GoPass to obtain one free Trinity Metro Local Day Pass. Riders should activate it when they are ready to board.
Customers who prefer a paper pass can request one at the Customer Service Kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station. They can collect it in advance for their chosen early voting date, but each customer must request their own pass, the agency explained on its campaign page.
The kiosk opens from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
Trinity Metro does not require identification, proof of voting, or proof that a customer is traveling to a polling location to receive an early voting pass.
The free TRE fare covers travel between Fort Worth T&P Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. On-Demand trips to early voting sites must remain within the applicable service zone. Certified paratransit customers should use their usual reservation process.
The early voting offer also includes Trinity Metro Bikes. Users can enter VOTE26 in the bike app for rides of up to 30 minutes. They must keep a valid credit card on file and dock the bike within 30 minutes to avoid added charges.
On Election Day, riders should tell their driver or train conductor that they are traveling to or from a voting location to receive a free ride, the agency said.
Texas’ early voting period begins October 19 and ends October 30, the secretary of state confirmed. Customers can call Trinity Metro at 817-215-8600 for trip-planning help.
The agency has offered voting transportation in previous elections, as The Dallas Express previously reported in 2022.
