
One person was killed, and three others were taken to hospitals on Monday afternoon after a multi-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler on U.S. Highway 75 in Dallas.
The crash was reported shortly after noon near the High Five Interchange, where southbound U.S. 75 approaches Interstate 635.
Crash Involved Multiple Vehicles
Dallas police said officers responded at approximately 12:20 p.m. after several vehicles collided in the area.
Preliminary information indicates that two or three vehicles were involved, including an 18-wheeler, reported WFAA. Video from a news helicopter showed a white sedan severely damaged beneath or alongside the tractor-trailer.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue. Three additional people were transported to hospitals for treatment. Police said at least one of those patients was in critical condition.
Cause of Collision Remains Under Investigation
Authorities have not released a determination on what caused the crash. The extent of the other victims’ injuries also has not been fully disclosed.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
