The Primrose School of Melissa closed Monday as police helped investigate a reported shooting threat involving the Primrose School system.
Initial reports indicated that a former resident made the threat, prompting the Melissa campus to close as a precaution, Melissa police said in a September 28 statement.
The campus at 2805 Concho Drive offers infant care, preschool and kindergarten programs, according to the school’s website.
Police coordinate investigation
Investigators continue to coordinate with the law enforcement agency where the individual currently lives. That agency has received information about the case, Melissa police said.
“The investigation remains active. The Melissa Police Department takes all reports of threats seriously and will continue to investigate and take appropriate steps to protect our community.” police said in the statement.
The release did not identify the individual or the other agency, announce an arrest or provide further details about the alleged threat.
