(WBAP/KLIF) — A shelter-in-place order was lifted after a massive explosion and fire at Valero Energy’s Port Arthur refinery. All employees are safe with no injuries reported.
The incident triggered a temporary shelter-in-place order for nearby residents, which has since been lifted after air quality tests showed no threat. The cause of the fire was an industrial heater, and operations are expected to resume once safety inspections are complete.
Valero’s Port Arthur refinery is one of the largest in the region, and the safety of workers and the community remains a priority.
