MANSFIELD (WBAP/KLIF) – The body found at Padre Island National Seashore has been confirmed as that of the missing Mansfield High School student.
In a statement Monday afternoon, the Mansfield I-S-D confirmed the body was identified as 16-year-old Carlos Alejandro Perez.
Perez disappeared last week in the rough waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There was a rescue attempt but it was eventually called off.
Perez and other students were in the area for a SkillsUSA State Competition.
