DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) A special program offered to many of Dallas’ homeless is getting them the education they need. Many people are getting their GEDs, high school diplomas and even continuing education classes. Bob Sweeney is the executive director of the Dallas Life Homeless Shelter. The 10-month program is called “Homeless No More” and 90% of participants complete it to reach total homeless recovery, never needing a shelter ever again. Sweeney says while the highest percentage of shelter-dwellers are people with addictions or mental health issues, the influx right now are intact families and veterans.
