DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) -A roller coaster ride at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington ended with a big scare when eight people had to be rescued using ladder trucks.
Emergency crews were called out about 12:30a.m. Saturday morning when The Joker, a new roller coaster at the park, stopped on an upper area of the track. Officials say no one was hurt and the last rider was safely removed before dawn.
The park was open late for High School Senior Night, and the roller coaster had opened for the first time overnight.
Six Flags spokewoman Sharon Parker said officials will try to determine what triggered the safety feature that stopped the roller coaster. So far, there is no word on when the ride will reopen.
