DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Police Department is asking anyone who may have information on shots being fired at a patrol car Wednesday night to come forward.
Police said the windows of the car were shout out and one officer had cuts to his face from the shattered glass.
Assistant Police Chief David Pughes said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of I-30 and 45 near downtown.
“My best hope is that somebody saw something and will get us to a place that we can focus on those leads,” he said.
He said investigators believe the squad car was targeting in the shooting.
“We were able to recover four shell casings. So, we know the vehicle was fired upon at least four times…two of them striking the vehicle,” he said.
Dallas Police Association President Michael Mata used social media to vent his frustrations about the shooting.
