(WBAP/KLIF) – As talks move forward on a possible DACA deal in Washington, Senator John Cornyn is giving a little information on what border security could look like.
The Senate Majority Whip says before anything is done, senators in border states sometimes have to educate their colleagues.
“Much of what some of my colleagues think they know about the border they learn from reading novels or watching movies,” Senator Cornyn said.
Cornyn says there needs to be a combination of technology, infrastructure and people to properly secure the border.
Cornyn says there are four pillars in the talks: 1. The pathway to citizenship for the DACA population, 2. Border security, 3. Diversity Lottery Visa, and 4. Family-based immigration.
