
Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – As part of a nationwide sex trafficking sting last month, the FBI says the DFW area recorded the second highest number of child trafficking victims.
Nine children in North Texas were recovered during ‘Operation Independence Day.’
The agency says the operation also led to 11 arrests and the recovery of more than 100 children nationwide.
Local police from Dallas and Fort Worth worked in conjunction with the FBI investigators and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission to recover victims.
The agency says the operation also led to 11 arrests locally and the recovery of 103 children nationwide; additionally 67 alleged traffickers were identified.
Last week, a child from North Carolina was recovered in Lewisville after a human trafficking sting led to the arrest of the girl’s mother in Louisiana.
