A woman died after a Friday night stabbing on North Akard Street in Dallas. Officers arrested Jimmy Spurger Jr., 54, and charged him with murder, NBC 5 reported, citing Dallas police.
The city’s dispatch log records the call at 11:13 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Akard Street. Dallas Fire-Rescue took her to a hospital, where she died, police said.
The police account did not name the woman or say what led to the stabbing.
On Monday, the Dallas City Council’s Public Safety Committee will review the city’s efforts to reduce violent crime, as The Dallas Express previously reported.
