WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says “everything’s going good” as midterm elections that will serve as a referendum on his second term come to a close. Polling sites opened along the East Coast on Tuesday with few disruptions. Americans angry over high prices and an unpopular war with Iran are deciding whether to drastically shift power in Washington. Democrats are cautiously optimistic about their prospects, betting discontent over Trump’s failure to deliver on his promise to tackle rising costs will depress Republican turnout. Trump declared in a Fox News Channel interview that “inflation is solved” — even though his Commerce Department says consumer prices rose 3.6% in September from a year earlier.
