Tarrant County Republican Party Chairman Tim Davis says the GOP cannot take the county for granted, especially when some voters only turn out for President Donald Trump (R).
On Let’s Talk Midterms, Davis joins host Sarah Zubiate-Bennett to discuss the November election, the party’s turnout operation and how his faith and family shape his involvement in politics.
“All of our research shows that there’s a segment of voter that only shows up when the president is on the ballot,” Davis said.
Davis says the party had already sent more than a million text messages and was holding nine phone banks a week across the county. He describes how volunteers, candidates and churches are contributing to the effort.
He also discusses outreach to Latino voters, immigration policy and why he believes churches and business leaders should pay closer attention to elections.
“It’s just you cannot take this one for granted,” he said.
Republican turnout has also been a focus of recent Tarrant County campaign efforts covered by The Dallas Express.
Early voting continues through October 30. Election Day is November 3.
Watch the full conversation above for Davis’ warning about complacency, his plan to reach voters and the issues he believes will shape Tarrant County’s future.
