A former Celina High School student faces six felony counts after detectives found four images involving six students allegedly photographed in a school locker room, according to Celina police.
Police announced Thursday that they had taken the juvenile into custody for allegedly obtaining child pornography online. Detectives then discovered the locker room images on the juvenile’s phone, the department said in a community advisory.
Investigators determined that the former student took the photographs during the 2025-2026 school year. The images resulted in six counts of invasive visual recording, a state jail felony, police said.
Police notify families
Detectives contacted the parents or guardians of the students involved. Police said investigators had found no evidence that anyone else participated in the alleged criminal activity, including current or former Celina ISD personnel.
“All evidence to date has shown these to be the action of the lone juvenile actor,” the department added in a comment on its Facebook advisory.
The district fully cooperated, assisted detectives and met its reporting obligations, according to the department. Police did not identify the juvenile and said they would release no additional information to protect those involved.
Celina ISD provided police with support resources to share with the affected families, the district said in a statement to parents.
“Our expectations regarding locker rooms are clear: they are spaces of trust and respect,” the district said.
The district said conduct that violates its policies or another person’s privacy, safety or dignity would trigger immediate disciplinary action and, when appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
District previously changed locker room policy
The new case follows the separate arrest of former Moore Middle School teacher and coach Caleb Elliott in October 2025 over allegations that he recorded students in a locker room. Families subsequently sued Elliott and Celina ISD, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
In a January statement addressing an independent review, the school board said the district had already updated its policy for sensitive areas, including locker rooms.
The review found no evidence that district employees knew of the alleged prior misconduct involving Elliott, according to the board. The review did not address the criminal allegations against him, as The Dallas Express explained in its earlier coverage.
