President Donald Trump is expected to visit the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington on Thursday during his trip to North Texas for the Republican midterm convention in Dallas.
Trump arrived in North Texas Wednesday afternoon. During his visit to Arlington, he is expected to meet with more than a dozen Medal of Honor recipients, along with members of Congress and national and local leaders.
Trump is expected to deliver remarks at the museum honoring the recipients and their military service. The visit will bring the president together with Medal of Honor recipients and other invited guests as part of his North Texas trip.
The White House has previously held Medal of Honor ceremonies and events recognizing recipients for acts of gallantry and service.
Road closures are expected around the National Medal of Honor Museum while Trump is in Arlington. Visitors and residents in the area should expect temporary traffic restrictions as security measures are put in place for the presidential visit.
A temporary flight restriction also applies to unmanned aircraft in the area during Trump’s visit. The restrictions are intended to limit unauthorized drone activity near the president and the event.
Trump’s Arlington appearance is part of his North Texas trip for the Republican midterm convention at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The two-day convention is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday and includes appearances by Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other Republican officials.
The visit to the National Medal of Honor Museum is expected to take place Thursday afternoon.
