Richardson police arrested Berkner High School teacher Michael Ralph Fouse, 41, on August 28 for allegedly soliciting a minor online. Police charged him with online solicitation of a minor, which they identified as a third-degree felony.
Detectives executed an arrest warrant and a search warrant at Fouse’s Richardson home. Officers took him into custody without incident, police said.
Richardson police began investigating Fouse on August 20 after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children sent the department a tip.
Police said detectives continue to work with Richardson ISD as they gather additional information. The department has not publicly identified the minor or released further details about the allegations.
Richardson ISD learned of Fouse’s arrest from police and immediately placed him on administrative leave, WFAA reported.
“The district will continue to cooperate fully with the Richardson Police Department as it conducts its criminal investigation,” Richardson ISD said. “RISD will take all appropriate and necessary action based on the findings of these investigations.”
The ongoing criminal investigation and personnel matter limit what the district can disclose, according to Richardson ISD. The district said it will take every appropriate step to protect students’ safety and well-being.
Authorities arrested a former Berkner High School teacher on a child pornography charge in 2023, The Dallas Express reported.
Richardson police continue to investigate the case and asked anyone with information to contact the department at 972-744-4893.
The charge remains an allegation and does not establish guilt.
