A Plano man is in custody after police discovered his wife dead inside their home and arrested him on suspicion of abusing her corpse, authorities said.
Plano police responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 4700 block of Charles Place around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a news release by the police department. The caller told officers they had been unable to reach the woman and were concerned about possible family violence.
When officers arrived at the home, they found the woman deceased inside, police said. Her husband was taken into custody at the scene on a charge of abuse of a corpse. Police said additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
The identities of the woman and her husband have not been released. Her age and cause of death have not been disclosed, and police did not comment on how long the woman may have been deceased.
Police said the crime scene was still being processed and that the husband’s name and photo could be released Thursday. The Dallas Express will update its readers as more details become available.
