Sam Williams says the foundation of the Dallas Cowboys’ new-look defense is bigger than one player or one position group: brotherhood.
In the latest Camp California interview, The Dallas Express Sports Network host Mark Elfenbein goes one-on-one with Williams at Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California, to talk about his health, his changing role and defensive coordinator Christian Parker’s approach.
Williams returned to Dallas on a one-year deal this offseason and is embracing a new role at outside linebacker in Parker’s defense.
“What excites me the most is the brotherhood,” Williams said. “That’s the foundation of this defense is the brotherhood and we’re all coming together.”
Parker’s “get it right or get gone” standard has also pushed Williams to spend more time in the playbook and change how he prepares. The conversation ends on a lighter note with Williams and Elfenbein debating ribs, brisket and lobster crab mac and cheese.
