Dallas police are searching for a 37-year-old man after an officer-involved shooting Friday morning in Northeast Dallas that began with the stabbing of a woman.
Officers responded to a call shortly after 7 a.m. in the 8500 block of Park Lane near Hemlock Avenue, near the Sunchase Park Apartments. According to the Dallas Police Department, the suspect encountered an officer at the scene, and the officer fired shots.
The suspect fled, and no officers were injured.
Suspect Identified and Description Released
Dallas Police identified the suspect as Isidoro Melo-Munoz.
In a post on X, the department stated that “The suspect in this incident is 37-year-old Isidoro Melo-Munoz. He is believed to have stabbed a woman at the scene and fled. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’ 5” tall weighing 140 pounds. If you see this man PLEASE CALL 9-1-1.”
The department released a photo of Melo-Munoz and urged the public not to approach him.

Officers reportedly fired shots at Melo-Munoz as he was stabbing his girlfriend outside the apartment complex, per Fox 4. The woman was taken to a hospital. Her condition has not been released.
Police have not confirmed whether Melo-Munoz was struck by gunfire.
Ongoing Search and Public Appeal
As of the latest updates, Melo-Munoz remains at large. Dallas Police asked anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately. Dallas Police posted an update, linking to a live broadcast for additional details from the scene.
This was the third officer-involved shooting in the city in less than 24 hours. Earlier incidents included the shooting of a Dallas ISD police officer Thursday and another officer-involved shooting in the 5900 block of Williamstown Road, as The Dallas Express previously reported.
The investigation remains active under the Dallas Police Department.
