Samsung Electronics hosted its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026, unveiling new foldable smartphones and other devices designed to advance the company’s AI-integrated portfolio.
The event showcased Samsung’s continued leadership in foldables, with several models featuring updated designs and hardware upgrades. Pre-orders for the new devices opened immediately, with shipping expected in early August.
New Galaxy Z Fold Models Emphasize Wider, Slimmer Designs
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which adopts a wider aspect ratio when unfolded for a more tablet-like experience while maintaining a compact closed form. The device features a 7.6-inch inner display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, dual 50MP cameras, and a 4,800mAh battery. At 201 grams, it is described as Samsung’s lightest foldable to date.
Pricing starts at $1,899 for the 256GB model.
A higher-end Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra variant offers an even slimmer profile, measuring approximately 4.1 mm thick, along with a larger battery. Both models support advanced multitasking and productivity features powered by on-device AI.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 was also announced, continuing the clamshell foldable lineup with refinements focused on durability, camera performance, and compact design suitable for one-handed use.
Additional Devices and AI Features
The event included new Galaxy Watch models equipped with Google Gemini AI capabilities for tasks such as navigation, translations, and photo editing via voice or tap commands. Compatibility extends across Android and iOS platforms.
Samsung also previewed stylish AI-powered smart glasses developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The collections feature bold, sculptural frames (Gentle Monster) and classic designs (Warby Parker), incorporating cameras, microphones, speakers, and privacy-focused audio. The glasses are scheduled for release this fall in select markets.
