(WBAP/KLIF) — A high school coach sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for having sex with one of his students. Amarillo ISD coach Nicholas Jade Herrmann sexually abused the 17-year-old girl multiple times and was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison. The 32-year-old will also receive 25 years of supervised release and have to register as a sex offender. Herrmann was an assistant wrestling coach at Tascosa High School in Amarillo when he began the sexual relationship the girl, coaxing her to sneak out of her house at night to meet. At trial, the student’s mother detailed how Herrmann’s sexual abuse impacted her daughter, completely changing her life’s trajectory.
