(WBAP/KLIF) – KERR COUNTY, TX – A lawsuit has been filed against camp mystic where 27 girls and counselors were killed in deadly floods. The family of 8-year-old Eloise Peck is suing camp organizers claiming that they knew that the cabins near the Guadalupe River were dangerous. The lawsuit claims that the camp played Russian roulette with the lives of the campers.
Camp Mystic’s owner stated that they empathize with the grieving families. However, they argue that the county lacked a warning system, and that no one could anticipate the unprecedented surge. Camp Mystic has announced plans to reopen part of the camp that was untouched by the flooding next summer.
