A Dangerous Livestock Parasite is Creeping Closer to the US

(WBAP/KLIF) – The flesh eating parasite known as the ‘New World Screw Worm’ has been confirmed in an infested calf in Nuevo Leon, which is located less than 70 miles from the US/Mexico border. The report comes amid growing concern that the screw worm could damage American livestock. Officials have stated that there’s no evidence that parasite has reached Texas, Arizona or New Mexico, and that they are ramping up monitoring in an effort to protect livestock in the US.
