P&G Recalls 8 Million Plus Laundry Detergent Bags

DALLAS – Procter & Gamble is recalling more than eight million packages of several types of detergent packets or pods, packaged in flexible “film” type bags. The recall involves certain batches of Tide, Gain, Ace and Ariel laundry detergents made between September of 2023 and February of 2024. Major retailers and Amazon sold the affected P&G detergents, including Target, Walmart, Amazon, and CVS.

Procter & Gamble says the problem is with the outer packaging, meant to keep children out of the contents of the bag. The manufacturer says the outer packaging bags can split open near the zipper track, posing a hazard or risk to children and others if the contents of the bag are ingested, as well as possible eye or skin injuries. No reports of injuries are thus far directly tied to the products being recalled.
