Fort Worth Fire Department Mourns Longtime Lieutenant Killed in Off-Duty Motorcycle Crash

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Fort Worth Fire Department is grieving the loss of a longtime lieutenant who was killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend.

56-year-old Lt. Garey Pugh had worked for the City of Fort Worth for 34 years.

Officials confirmed Saturday that the accident was reported near Sunnyvale while Pugh was off-duty and riding with a group of motorcyclists.

The department expressed the heaviness of their loss in a post on social media.

“The FWFD is saddened to announce the unexpected loss of one of our own,” said the post. “Our thoughts & prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
