US Military Identifies Victims of Helicopter Crash Near Texas Mexico Border

RIO GRANDE CITY (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The victims of the military helicopter crash along the Texas Mexico border have been identified.

The Department of Homeland Security said National Guard Chief Warrant Officers 28-year-old Casey Frankoski, 30-year-old John Grassia and 49-year-old Border Patrol Agent Chris Luna were killed when their UH-72 Lakota aircraft came down while on a federal border support mission near Rio Grande City on Friday.

All three soldiers served in the New York Army National Guard. Another unidentified national guard member was seriously injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
