AUSTIN – (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas office of Attorney General wins another round in court in it’s efforts to keep in place concertina, or razor wire, on the banks of the Rio Grande. It was placed by Texas with the stated intent of stopping the illegal entry of migrants into the United States.
Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office wins an injunction in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th circuit, which prohibits the White House from ordering federal Border Patrol agents to dismantle the razor wire. In ordering the wire placed, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the federal government was not doing enough to keep migrants from entering the country, without the authority to do so.
Opponents argue this is the legal arena of solely the federal government. Toward the beginning of the legal wrangling, the Biden Administration ordered the U.S. Border Patrol agents to take the wire down.
