(WBAP/KLIF) — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for North Texas until 10:00 p.m.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 187 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM CDT
FOR THE FOLLOWING TEXAS COUNTIES:
BASTROP, BELL, BLANCO, BOSQUE, BROWN, BURNET, CALLAHAN, CLAY, COLEMAN, COLLIN, COMANCHE, COOKE, CORYELL, DALLAS, DENTON, EASTLAND, ELLIS, ERATH, FALLS, GILLESPIE, GRAYSON, HAMILTON, HAYS, HILL, HOOD, JACK, JOHNSON, LAMPASAS, LEE, LLANO, MASON, MCCULLOCH, MCLENNAN, MILAM, MILLS, MONTAGUE, PALO PINTO, PARKER, ROCKWALL, SAN SABA, SHACKELFORD, SOMERVELL, STEPHENS, TARRANT, THROCKMORTON, TRAVIS, WILLIAMSON, WISE, & YOUNG

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.
.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.
Through nightfall, thunderstorms will impact areas primarily west of
the I-35 corridor. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary
threats, but tornadic storms will also be possible.
Later this evening, the thunderstorm potential will spread eastward,
eventually reaching Central and East Texas. Although the severe
potential will steadily diminish after dark, the stronger storms will
still be capable of hail and gusty winds.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.
An unsettled pattern will keep daily thunderstorm chances in the
forecast this weekend and throughout the upcoming week. Some of the
storms could be severe, particularly during the afternoon and
evening. As the week progresses, the potential for heavy rain and
flooding will be on the increase.

Limited spotter activation may be requested along and west of I-35
this afternoon and evening.
