Taylor Swift Makes Sizable Donation to the Tarrant Area Food Bank Ahead of Weekend Concerts in Arlington

TARRANT AREA (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The Tarrant Area Food Bank is thanking pop star Taylor Swift for making a generous donation to its cause that will feed thousands of families.

She’s performing at AT&T stadium this weekend, the same site where the Tarrant Area Food Bank has fed the Tarrant County community and twelve other counties in their service area during the holiday season.

“We want to thank Taylor for this gift, and for caring about people who may not know where their next meal with come from in the Tarrant Area,” said Julie Butner, President & CEO of Tarrant Area Food Bank. “Food bank across the state are seeing increases in need due to inflation rising costs and we know her donation couldn’t have come at a greater time of need. Today at the Taylor Area Food Bank, as we’ve been calling it all week, Taylor is a Hunger Hero,” she continued.

The TAFB did not reveal the amount of the donation.

Swift has made other sizable donations in other cities her “Eras Tour” has stopped in.

Her tour comes amid what’s expected to be a busy weekend in the Arlington entertainment district.

Swift’s concert will run simultaneously with major events at Globe Life Field,and Choctaw Stadium.

Her concert runs through Sunday, the Texas Rangers play on Saturday and Sunday, while the Arlington Renegades XFL game is Friday.

Arlington Police Department spokesman Tim Ciesco suggests patrons give themselves up to an hour of extra travel time, as well as planning their route ahead of time and pre-selecting a parking facility.

Sunday is expected to be the worst day for traffic, as the Swift concert and Rangers’ game occur at the same time.
