ICE STORM WARNING: Freezing Rain and Sleet Before 9am, then Freezing Rain

A Winter Storm Warning continues through 6am Thursday … and Ice Storm Warning for all of North Texas beginning at 6AM.

Travel conditions will continue to be hazardous into Wednesday night and Thursday with more sleet and freezing rain expected. Temperatures will slowly climb above freezing Thursday morning across most of North Texas allowing for melting of ice. However, slushy roads will persist well after temperatures get above freezing.

Wednesday

A chance of freezing rain and sleet before 9am, then freezing rain. High near 32. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Wednesday Night

Freezing rain before 3am, then freezing rain, possibly mixed with rain. Low around 30. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.2 to 0.4 of an inch possible.

Thursday

A chance of rain or freezing rain before 9am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 37. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday Night

A 20 percent chance of showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. North northwest wind around 10 mph.

Friday

Sunny, with a high near 51. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

Mostly clear, with a low around 33. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the evening.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
