(WBAP/KLIF News ) – Senator Ted Cruz is asking for prayers and privacy after Houston police and medical personnel were called to his home in River Oaks Tuesday night in response to a call about a 14-year-old girl who suffered self-inflicted stab wounds to her arms.
While police did not confirm if the girl was Cruz’ daughter, a spokesperson for Cruz said: “This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay. The girl was not seriously injured. The family requests that the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.”
The teen was taken to the hospital around 8 pm.
Cruz and his wife Heidi have two daughters, who are 11 and 14 years old.
